Ultimately, it is your eating and exercise plan that will bring about weight loss. The plan we create for you at the Weight Management Institute of Georgia will be customized to your present health, your goals, your preferences, and your personality. Everything else we do is aimed at helping you stick to those plans and keeping you healthy while you lose the weight.
We will discuss medication options with you at your second visit, after all lab results have come back and you have followed your initial eating plan for two weeks. Many of our patients choose not to take additional medications, and that is fine. For our patients who struggle with excessive hunger, stress eating, boredom eating, and so on, we can discuss using medications to help make following the eating plan easier. Sometimes we prescribe traditional appetite suppressants, but many times we are able instead to treat the underlying conditions that makes you want to eat more than your body currently needs. Of course, we take all of your health conditions into account while we make this decision together.
