Thank you for your interest in the Weight Management Institute of Georgia. We all have patients whose health is compromised by their weight. We also have patients who would like to be able to reduce many of their medications for obesity-related conditions. We would be pleased to help you improve your obese patients' health through evidence-based medical weight loss plans.

Dr. Beasley is board-certified in family medicine and practiced primary care for many years. She specializes in bariatrics and is dedicated to improving obesity-related medical conditions though weight loss. Our patients routinely lose enough weight to have their blood pressure and cholesterol medications reduced or even stopped. It is not uncommon to have insulin dosages lowered as eating habits improve. Because we only see patients who have a BMI of 30 or greater with obesity related medical conditions, insurance providers cover our services just as they would cover any other primary care physician's office visit. Please see our referral form for more information.

Our practice concentrates on formulating reasonable healthy eating plans that take into account each patient's various and multiple health conditions. At the Weight Management Institute of Georgia, we are able to give your obese patients the time and resources they need to be successful with their weight loss program, time and resources that you may be unable to give them in your busy office. We see your patients frequently, in order to reinforce healthy behaviors and get in front of harmful habits that tend to get patients frustrated and off track. Our success rate for significant weight loss is excellent for patients who follow up regularly.

As you may know, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) has recently updated its screening recommendations for obesity in children and adolescents. The task force now recommends that clinicians screen children ages six years and older for obesity, then offer obese patients – or refer them to – comprehensive, intensive, behavioral interventions to improve their weight status. We offer this service to adults and children alike, ages five and up.
