BMI stands for Body Mass Index and it is a way to see if you are at higher risk for weight related medical problems such as hypertension, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, etc. It is a calculation of height and weight, but it doesn’t take into account increased muscle mass. It is a good indicator to categorize weight in terms of what is healthy and unhealthy.
